Default INFO : The Grove "Tunerless" All Band Antenna

FO&A,

Here is a Re-Post of some INFO about the
The Grove "Tunerless" All Band Antenna ~ RHF

Grove Tunerless All Band Antenna - a little bit of this
and a little bit of that . . .

Here is my take on the Grove Tunerless All Band Antenna
(See Drawing).
http://www.monitoringtimes.com/html/mtswlprimer3.html

The general design appears to follows that of a "G5RV"
Multi-Band Antenna developed by Louis Varney [G5RV]

An Equal-Arm "Dipole" Top Section connected to a
Twin-Lead Down-Line Matching Section ending in a
SO-239 Connector which is then connected to the
Coax Cable feed-in-line.

http://www.cebik.com/wire/g5rv.html

What makes this Grove Tunerless All Band Antenna
'different' from a standard G5RV Antenna :

# 1 - The Top Section is not a standard {Equal-Arm}
Dipole Antenna but and Off-Center Fed Dipole -or- in
this case a Windom Antenna given the measurements
Short-Arm of 44 Feet (33%) and Long-Arm of 90 Feet
(67%) for a Tip-to-Tip Length of 134 Feet with 48.5
Feet of Twin-Lead as a Down Lead Matching Section.

http://www.kh2d.net/windom.cfm
http://www.ve1dx.net/windom.html
http://www.cebik.com/gup/gup9.html

# 2 - The 4:1 Matching Transformer at the junction of
the Twin-Lead Down-Line Matching Section and the Coax
Cable feed-in-line. Often with the Windom Antenna the
Matching Transformer is at the Horizontal Feed-Point
and there is simply a Coax Cable feed-in-line. With
this Antenna we have the Twin-Lead Down-Lead Matching
Section between the Horizontal Wire Antenna Elements
and the Matching Transformer; which makes it more like
a G5RV Antenna.

Question - So What Is Your Take on the
Grove Tunerless All Band Antenna ?
