I did not explain the directions very well.
The null is to the south/south west. So the signal is most likely coming from the north of me. Ken Ken Wilson wrote: Hi Terry, Yes, I am in Georgetown. Its 03:02 UTC.....had to watch 24.....Yes I hear something on 454+- khz. it is a noise with a pulse in it that pulses every second or so. What the heck is it ???? Its pretty loud here. On the K9AY I get the best signal South/ South West. S-8 on the NRD545. When I switch to the north it is S2 or so. All good antennas are put up in foul WX. Adds at least 3db over a fair WX antenna. 73 es DX Ken KG4BIG wrote: If memory serves me correct, you live in or near Georgetown KY. If so, could you take a listen to ~454.2KHz for an odd FSK signal that is not IF related. I have it on several receivers, one of which doesn't use 455 as the IF. I am trying to see if it is a local or it is strong enough for you to get. S5 for me on a variety of antennas. I was planing on changing antennas this long weekend but the 3" of rain has dampened my spirits so to speak. I hate working in the rain. Terry |
