Default The Shortwave Shop

A little while ago I visited The Shortwave Shop's website
(http://www.shortwave.co.uk) only to find that they're now under new
management. Most of their old website is gone, and there's a link
saying "To order a Wellbrook loop, click here" or something to that
effect. The link is an email link. I don't think I like this new turn
of events. Anyone know what the story is?

Steve

Whilst I'm not familar with the UK site you mention, if you are just looking
to purchase a Wellbrook Loop or get more inforation you could try:

http://www.wellbrook.uk.com/products.html

Hope it helps

Steve,

I was in the shop a couple of weeks ago buying an ICOM 703 - they
are very much in business - nice guy too. I asked him about the
website and he said that it was on the list of 'things to do'. Their
most important task, he told me, was to set a computerised inventory
system as the previous owner did it all by paper.

I got the impression that the two guys now running the business knew
the previous owner who has now retired.

If you are looking for anything in particular just give them a ring,
I found them really helpful and friendly.

Charlie.

Andy Ikin at Wellbrook still builds them, or his employees do. The
Shortwave shop is just a retail outlet for them but most people use it
as the shop will take credit cards and Andy isn't set up to do that.

I wonder why he isn't set up to do it? I mean, isn't this something
that could be taken care of in an afternoon? Maybe he doesn't like
talking to people at banks (can't fault him there), but even then
there's Paypal.

Oh well.
