I have "Download Them All" power downloader -- so size is not an issue. The Real Audio file is 10 minutes. The trouble is that you need to use the real media protocol, RTSP:// or the older PNM:// and not something like HTTP://. There was a program called Streamworks VCR which was in beta when RealAudio sued Streamworks. It knew how to download rtsp:// and pnm://. (and also Windows Media mms://) Streamworks later went out of business. Rumor has it that you might be able to find, with a Google search on Streamworks, a suite of cracked and improved Streamworks beta programs including vcr and a program which can convert Real Audio files to MP3. Rumor also has it that the program which converts RA to MP3 might need the following workaround to the change of name of some DLL's in recent versions of Real Audio: cd \Program Files\Common Files\Real\Codecs copy cook.dll cook3260.dll copy sipr.dll sipr3260.dll There are also several other programs that can download RTSP including the shareware download manager NetTransport. The programs which still have an official existence may be able to handle newer versions of Real Audio and Windows Media than the dead programs. -- Posted via a free Usenet account from http://www.teranews.com |
