Why do conservatives listen to lie after lie by republicans and believe every bit of it? The same reason they believe that republicans are conservatives. Most are inflicted with a terminal case of the simples. Conceptual thinking or anything that can't be reduced to either/or, right/wrong, black/ white is not only confusing for them it also disturbs their sense of well being. Thus the inordinately high number of evangelical Christians, Southerners, white trash in the ranks. A very sad phenomonon when you ponder it. |
