I nominate the Tecsun PL-350. It's a small portable with tons of
features: excellent sensitivity, good sound, a tuning knob, 550
memories, analog volume control, full coverage of all bands, rubbery
finish, and it's just plain fun to use. This radio has been seriously
underestimated.

Here's some reviews:http://www.eham.net/reviews/detail/4...m/group/pl350/

For now, it's available only through eBay:http://tinyurl.com/2p6w5a

Does it smell, like that piece of cheap plastic crap, the Grundig
S350 ?

I have one of these & several of the mini 300's; the 300's blow the 100's
away! the 300 is one excellent little portable!

Tabletop or portable. Doesn't matter whether it's still being
manufactured or not.

I like the Kaito WRX-911. Great sensitivity and band coverage for such
a small radio. Costs around $20.

I would have said the DE1102 but when I look back at the reviews it
has never really been underestimated, just forgotten.

The DE1121 really has been underestimated though, most of the initial
comments have been pretty damning but my experience has been
overwhelmingly positive.

Big fan of this radio. Great way to introduce someone to SW,
relatively inexpensive at US$30, has major bands and brings in more
than you would expect. I really like the sound from such a little
speaker, and if I have a complaint, it's that it is analog, and unless
you have a digital receiver or SW guide around to confirm the
frequency it's difficult to know exactly where on the dial you made
the capture. Stations that show 9.550 MHz on a digital show up in the
9.700-9.900 range on the mini pe

I think Chris Chambers may be one of the most underestimated receivers
around. I liked him when he played for Wisconsin too.
