What should I be looking for in the bandswitch to detect or head off a
problem?
tnx

It has to be mechanically sound. The wafers must be intact and
properly aligned. The contacts must still have some spring in them.
It's difficult to replace a wafer with another copy of the radio to
rob parts from. Virtually mpossible without.
