I replaced my EF-SWL with an RF Systems T2FD cropped to 35' and the
difference was amazing. Stations which were heard but noisy became
enjoyable, and stations which I didn't know were there popped out, not
strong but good enough to listen to.

Don't worry about the slope. It helps make the antenna more
omnidirectional above all but its certainly not required to get good
results.
