I see where you answered a post from that NSA reject. I had completely forgotten about his single-minded rantings. I added him to my blocked users list about a month ago, and this newsgroup has become much more pleasant. Suck my cock ! |

Has anyone tried this new product? I saw it tonight selling for $49.95 at a local RS store here in Virginia . About the same size as the GE SR series, the Extreme Long Range radio features digital LED frequency display and direct entry. Build quality appears to be excellent. BTW, my Sony 7600 GR blows away my SR III as an AM BCB dx receiver. I first mentioned the RS portable here & reports were not too good. I guess if you wanted something that would blow away your 7600GR (and SRIII) for AM BCB DX you might need to invest $125 in the Kaito KA-2100. One DXer (in S Afr I think) said it gets AM BCB stations thousands of miles away with the built-in antenna. Full sized portable with long ferrite rod & big speaker, PLL synthesizer tunes in 1 kHz steps, bass & treble controls, narrow selectivity 4.25 kHz. The FM tunes in 10 kHz steps & is said to not overload on FM with IF rejection of over 100dB. Has maybe around 20 db adjacent channel selectivity on FM, so it beats the SRIII & 7600GR there, too. But the SW has some problems with mixing products, correctable with purchase of tuned antenna or antenna tuner. I don't have one, though, as my Eton E1 seems the ultimate & has got me AM BCB DX from Europe, Africa & Middle East, using it with a loop antenna. But it is $500 new and about $350 used. 73, George S., MN |

I understand Eton plans to release the Grundig G1, which is an E1 minus the XM, later in the year. No price yet, but it should probably sell for $400 or so. |
