Default Wish, I had done this to my S350, instead...

Wish, I had done this to my S350, instead of returning it to Radio
Shack:

"UN-Reliable Machine for the Price"

"Was I on drugs when I wrote that?? Shortly after I wrote the
paragraph above, I began to have paper handling problems. The feeder
would refuse to take a single sheet at a time and would suck in 2, 3,
10, it didn't have any control at all. The problem got so aggravating
that I ended up bashing the machine to pieces with my fist and
throwing it out the door into the yard. I then got a hammer and
smashed it into little bits. That's how much I hated that machine. I
would like to also point out that I am usually a peace loving and
thoughtful person, more prone to working things out than resorting to
violence. In hindsight, I should have just returned it to Costco, but,
I was so angry at the absolutely poor performance of the machine that
I didn't even think of it at the time."

After $200+ dollars on various analog and digital-tuned AM/FM radios,
for AM DXing, I came across the $10 Sony ICF-S10MK2:

http://www.radiointel.com/review-sonys10mk2.htm

I could get the same AM DX stations, as the $100 S350; plus, I just
fell for the S350's pretty face, and didn't realize what a cheap
plactic box it is:

owned?"

Oh well, live-and-learn !

I have one of those Sony ICF-S10MK2 radios.I bought it at a Wallgreens
store about two years ago.HUMPH!,,, I don't think much at all about that
radio,I wish I had saved my money.I have a lot of old,old small
transistor radios here that work much better than that radio.I own one,I
tried it out and I know.

Where are you paying $100 for an S350? I have 2 and paid about $60 for
each. Both are fine radios.

...... and the winner is: The C Crane radio. Did you have a point in
posting this?

The CCRadio, SR III, and S350 are all over-hyped cheap plastic boxes -
that was my point.

And, in the same price range and capabilities, you would recommend what
radios as replacements?

Along with the Sony ICF-2010 and Grundig YB 400, right? The Sony actually
has more votes than the S350, and the YB 400 has the same amount. What
"point" do you draw from these facts?

This kind of "survey" is pretty useless, as the people complaining obviously
have defective units.
