What ever happened to that guy that did the news and a full hour show from
Cuba???
I can't remember his name!

Cuban news is delivered with such a Communist Revolutionary bias, that
I don't really follow it. But the 0330U DX program on Saturday is
interesting at times.

I can post a recording (WMA format) to alt.binaries.radio-scanner or
alt.binaries.sounds.radio.misc of a description of the construction of
a "Stealth" 20m antenna if you're interested.

Why would I want a "Stealth" antenna, I live in a rice paddy and can run
miles of wire.
I did have an eves antenna in Ridgecrest.

hey Cuzz, you come see me, or give me a call. You got my e-mail right?

I get my ride be fixed, I be cruisin to be givin ya da shake, yu be knowin, eh?

I'm happy with the 100ft wire I have up. When I get some time I'll make
a passive pre selector and do some better grounding.

I've got to do something about noise pickup through the antenna, but
its going to be difficult to find a solution that is distant from the
source of the noise (the house) and not unsightly.

I use a thirty foot (10 m) piece of coax as a lead in from the wire. I
had a well grounded water tap underneath the connection point, so I used
that instead of grounding the sheath nearer the radio.

Have you heard anything about this active noise cancellation filter:

I would be interested in hearing anyone's thoughts that have actual
experience with this or similar devices . . .

I currently have a modified MFJ-1026 and a Quantum Phaser. I used to
have an ANC-4 but sold it after I had the 1026 modified. The 1026 allows
for the use of a telescoping antenna or an external antenna and has
jumper positions that can be set that affect the gain of the unit. The
Quantum Phaser has inputs for 2 external antennas and was designed to be
compatible with the Quantum QX series of antennas.

I have had no regrets about selling off the ANC.

YMMV according to your location.

I often tune off center to improve reception. 6178.0 kHz was probably
the frequency to which the receiver was tuned.
