I use a thirty foot (10 m) piece of coax as a lead in from the wire. I had a well grounded water tap underneath the connection point, so I used that instead of grounding the sheath nearer the radio. mike Have you heard anything about this active noise cancellation filter: http://www.universal-radio.com/catal...ters/0094.html I currently have a modified MFJ-1026 and a Quantum Phaser. I used to have an ANC-4 but sold it after I had the 1026 modified. The 1026 allows for the use of a telescoping antenna or an external antenna and has jumper positions that can be set that affect the gain of the unit. The Quantum Phaser has inputs for 2 external antennas and was designed to be compatible with the Quantum QX series of antennas. I have had no regrets about selling off the ANC. YMMV according to your location. JB |
