Sacrificing CHOICE and creating QRM. Such a deal!

"The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few" - Spock, "Wrath

"Damn, quoting some fictional character from a fictional movie lends
real
credence to your argument" - dxAce, "rec.radio.shortwave"

Yes, it does, considering the truth of the quote.

Then by all means continue living in your fictional, comic book like
fantasy
world like Edweenie does.

While your attempt to shift the issue is typical, it is also transparent.
The quote above serves to illustrate what is happening with HD radio. If
enough people are willing to support it and vote with their dollars (I am)
then it will succeed, regardless of what you and other "analog or die!"
types say or do. Money always talks. Radio stations aren't going to
cater to people who are outside of their primary market. If the primary
market demands HD radio, then it will happen. If a few thousand DXers
suffer, too bad. Millions of others will benefit.

The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. It doesn't matter
*who* said it, because it's true.

But it's not a need at all... as AM radio serves everyone quite well at the
present time without HD/IBOC.

I'd characterize it more as a 'want' on the part of the few, rather than a
'need' of the many.
