I'd say I did pretty well, boy! Actually, not. As Tommy stated, you loaned, interest free, money to the government for a year. The best situation is when you manage your pre-payments and such so that you owe a little at filing time, but not enough to trigger a penalty. Since the markets were up around 15% last year, you can say that you lost 15% on your loan to the government, versus putting it in an indexed mutual fund. Now that is dumb. |
