The ones you listed are hardly OLD.

REAR WINDOW, North by Northwest, Notorious, Rebecca Many of the
Hitchcock movies would do very well. A capable director
can create a high level of tension and suspense without resorting to
simple in-your-face tricks so popular today.

when i read it i thought old was the 1940s...these are 20 year old
movies! ANd hardly classics...let's face it, dirty dancing was just 80s
junk with a 60s soundtrack.

Old,old Movies,,,, John Wayne and Susan Hayward and Humphrey Bogart and
James Cagney and Edward G. Robinson and James Garfield and Richard Dix
and Paul Muni movies.Paul Muni,I was a Fugitive From a Chain Gang movie
will be on DirecTV in a few days.It will start at 5:00 AM so I will set
my old,old Philco AM clock radio to wake me up out of my beauty sleep in
time for the movie.

Oh man, I LOVE that movie - a true classic!!!!

Casablanca would be good in any era. Given your rules, I think it
would still be a hit even if it is released black and white. The one
liners were awesome. The girl was beautiful.

A couple of Alfred Hitchcock movies are fixin to start on the CHILL
(CHILLER) tv channel on DirecTV.First one is, A Bottle of Wine,next one
is, Manacled.Sounds good to me.
