Hi all I have a Sony sw-77 and it appears to be acting up. It seems to have a problem in the power dept, now I'm not sure if it's because of the batteries, as I have cheap things in it at the moment, but its still the same with the ac power supply fitted, it sort of crackles and goes quiet for a few seconds, then sometimes it sounds as if it drifts off frequency, but then it comes back again, it is an intermittant problem, but very annoying, any ideas anyone please tia Clive A suggestion, if you've not gone this route already: Try posing this question to the folks at the Yahoo SW77 group: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SONYICFSW77/ Best of luck, Junius |

It had worked its way loose and was only about half way on the connector at an angle, I simply pushed it on the connector properly and now its working fine. I found out that these wires from the connector run parralell with the batteries in the same compartmant, they had come away from the sticky tape stuff they use to hold them in place out of the way of the batteries, so over time when I was re-newing the batteries the sides of the batteries were pulling these wires downwards slightly, causing the other end where the block connector is to slowly come of the connector. I put fresh tape on the wires and taped them out of the way of the batteries, Everything is now working perfect. I am glad to say. Its been running now for 18 hours without a glitch :-)) regards Clive |
