dxAce lives in an all American City.dxAce ia as American as baseball and
moms apple pie.
I was in an Irish computer newsgroup (group over yonder in Ireland) a
few hours ago.Andy said he was in a hotel in UK and some loud brash loud
talking Americans in the hotel room next to him kept him awake till
about 2:00 AM in the morning.
I told them Shamrocks over there we Ameicans earned the right the hard
way to be brash and loud talking and nobody is ever going to take that
away from us.America owns the World.
cuhulin, Loud Brash Loud Talking American
Many years ago, I was on an internal UK flight, sitting right up at the
front of the plane. A guy sat down next to me but, of course, being
British, we only exchanged the most cursory of initial acknowledgements,
and didn't speak again.
However, well into the flight, he suddenly turned to me, and said "It's
true what they say".
Taken somewhat aback, I said "Sorry? I'm not quite with you".
"You normally hear them before you see them", he replied.
He was, of course, referring to a particularly loud American gentleman,
who must have been about 15 rows back, talking so loudly that he was
probably heard 30,000 feet below, on the ground.
We didn't speak again (of course), but I've never forgotten what he said
to me.
Ian.
