VOA has mostly been gutted. What is left only plays music. There may
be a handful of freqs using News Now, but I doubt they are very many.
Right after the Soviet Union collapsed the VOA was eviscerated, with
the institution of News Now and eventually a full switch to music
only. The IBB is concentrated on the Middle Eastern music services
Sawa (for Arabs) and Farda (for Iran) and the Al Hurri satellite
channel that nobody watches. Their heart is in the right place, but
nobody listens, so they're a failure. Even worse, Iran doesn't bother
to jam Farda, but jams BBC Farsi-the final insult.

AI,

In many Countries the new majority of the Population
is under age 25 and the VOA is going after the Next
Generation of Shortwave Radio Listeners : Who are
in-fact Internet and iPod Listeners. It is a 'trend' that
many former Government {Sponsered} International
Shortwave Radio Broadcasters are following.

shortwave radio the times they are a changing ~ RHF
