Tim Holt (and Earl Holliman) were two of my favorite movie actors.Tim Holt was in the U.S.Army Air Corps in World War Two.He was wounded on the last day of the War in a Bombing Raid over Tokio, for which he earned a Purple Heart.Earl Holliman was in the U.S.Navy in World War Two. Take a look at modern day so-called movie actors, bunch of Yellow Belly COWARDS! Drunk Driving WIMPS! I just read at alt.gossip.celebrities newsgroup Bill Murray has been arrested for driving drunk in a golf cart in Stockholm,Sweden. cuhulin |

He has always been one of my favorites. I can remember him doing lots of PSA's on behalf of animals urging spay and neutering to reduce the homeless animal population. Think you could get any of the so called "stars" of today to do something constructive and positive like that? And for free *GASP*? Not a chance. By the way, I have never liked John Wayne or Frank Sinatra because they were draft dodgers during WWII and unlike today that was a MAJOR disgrace back then. Jimmy Stuart on the other hand was a hero who not only volunteered to serve in the middle of his very successful movie career but did so heroically. He ended up making General in the Air Force reserve before all was said and done. Ed McMahon also made Colonel (I believe) in the Marine Corp reserves. Johnny Carson served honorable in the Navy also. Unlike the chicken hawks of today (Rush Limbaugh, Dick Cheney, Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, Glen Beck and all the other right wing gas bags who all love the idea of going to war) the stars of yesteryear walked the walk and not just talked the talk. No reason to knock Frank Sinatra and John Wayne.John Wayne was too young
to enlist in World War One and too old to enlist in World War Two, the cut off age was thirty four years of age. www.emanuellevy.com/article.php?articleID=2677 He was injured while playing football at University of Southern California.Frank Sinatra,,,, forcep delivery at birth left permanent scars on his face and ruptured an ear drum. James Arness (Matt Dillon, U.S.Marshall, Dodge City,Kansas) was a Bomber Pilot in Europe in World War Two, U.S.Army Air Corps.Ken Curtis (Festus Hagen) was in the U.S.Army, Infantry, in Europe in World War Two. cuhulin |
