NO dropouts on stations within 60 miles or so. And morning and evening reception (depending on weather - same as analog tv reception) from 180 miles away is absolutely perfect. In fact, I get digital stations loud and clear that I can't even get on analog! Some stations are not yet broadcasting full power on digital which may cause problems for those in the fringe reception areas, but once they are using full power, reception should be consistantly excellent. No more snowy picture for me. Yeah, digital radio is pretty stupid, but I have to agree on this one - HD TV signals really do look quite amazing on an HD TV, and even if you think that it won't be great on regular broadcast (and it actually is), most folks are using cable these days anyway. Turner Classic Movies and my favorite silent films have never looked better (at least on the tube). I'll keep using my old TV until it breaks down, but once it does, I will be happy to get a new fancy digital TV set :-) Bruce Jensen |
