Default WABC's HD/IBOC destroying reception in the Poconos!

Wonder if he's changed his mind. Sunday night and Monday night, WABC
didn't have IBOC on.

It's been on during the day. Let's see what happens tonight.

I have little respect for Boyce. This man's theory of "nothing
outside weekday drivetime matters" has led this once great station to
become a clearinghouse for dull syndicated bird droppings (Laura
Ingraham comes to mind) and lots of infomercials during the weekend
and overnight hours.

This never happened under the previous PD, John Mainelli, who had
taken the station to 24 hours of live programming, the bulk of it
being local -- even on the weekends! During his tenure, AM 77 was the
#1 rated talk station in the entire COUNTRY. No small feat for an AM
station.

WABC has higher ratings now than when Manelli was there... that is why they
changed.

With 93,000 AQH persons, 6-Mid, WABC still beats the #2 talker, KFI, by a
third.

Just like Edweenie, IBOC sucks.

Interesting that the daytime signal can be heard, but no nighttime
signal - anyway, I emailed the article to WABC, not that it matters...

It has destroyed WABC in upstate NY also.
I am about 70 miles north.

I think the best thing is to protest to the FCC about whole matter. As well
as writing your congressman and giving them a piece of your mind about the
destruction of the public airwaves by the HD Radio plotters. This is quite
intentional when you consider that they knew through testing and
experimentation what havoc it would cause. When you cannot listen to a night
time station 70 miles from you, you have problems especially at 50 kw such
as WABC.

Focus on why it happened and why it isn't going to change:

"We could turn off HD off and fix this tomorrow, but radio has
invested a lot in this HD."

"But it is not going to cost us. There is really no upside," for
broadcasting to northeast Pennsylvania."

"The Poconos are not rated and we don't sell advertising there. The
Poconos are like bonus listeners we've had for years," Boyce said"
