Digital Radio Mondiale is also IBOC. (Designed to operate in analog/
digital mode for shortwave and AM, and soon FM.)

Do you hate DR Mondiale too?

Yes - all forms of digital radio are a farce with poor reception, poor
sound quality, and extra channels which are garbage and no value to
consumers.

Of course, but DRM doesn't matter because it has already failed.

DRM, like any form of QRM, is horrendously annoying. Hatred I'll
reserve for CODAR...

Can you demodulate DRM without a digital decoder?

It's not so bad. It would be better if they would segregate the AM and DRM
SW stations.

HD radio advocates want to put a new seat cushion on a horse drawn
carriage and call the result a spaceship. At bottom they simply fear
the future, fear technology, fear the internet, fear progress, and
fear the inevitable.

No, but it does have one advantage over HD Radio. DRM can be received
with a standard computer (you just need the tuner to receive the
signals).

As a whole, digital radio is a farce, offering poor reception
(especially in moving vehicles), unnecessary extra channels (as if
there aren't already enough radio stations), and expensive receivers
requiring external antennas - no wonder, consumer interest in DAB has
stalled in Canada and the US, and is slowing in the UK.

This is "Why" many say DRM is QRM. ~ RHF

What's QRM? (checks wikipedia) Does that mean "Man-made
interference"

Wikipedia doesn't say what the negatives for DRM are.

I think the reaction you're getting is really due to

1. Reaction to the marketing hype, which in the case of Ibquity and DRM, is
the bold faced lie of CD quality.
2. The way you promote the official position, as if you had a financial
stake. Regardless of whether you're just a bored engeineer, or a marketing
type lying his ass off, this is the way you come off.

I see. Well I wrote roughly half of the criticisms section (and all
of the HDR vs. EU DRM/DAB section) located he
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hd_radio#Comparison_to_EU.27s_Digital_Radio
----- I have also posted quite a number of negative comments on this
forum such as, "HD Radio AM should be banned from nighttime
broadcasting, until circa 2015, at which time analog can be switched-
off and HD can take over".

I recognize that HD is not flawless.

The problem is most of the folks on these groups think HD has
absolutely *no* positives whatsoever. They are biased towards the
"hate" side of the HD argument, and hate anyone (like me) who says
even the slightest positive thing about the standard.

They are the biased ones.
I am sitting on the fence (recognizing both + and - the standard).

If digital radio were instead marketed honestly with respect to the real
benefits it provides in certain situations, such as mobile, you wouldn't
hear all the animosity.
