Default IBOC reveals less than robust transmissions

I used to be able to listen to KFBK, 1530, just fine. But now it
constant "warble- warble; pink noise; warble-warble" on top of the
talk. They have some selective fading issues, which were unapparent
on full bandwidth AM, but render the signal unlistenable with IBOC
implemented. How many AM HD radios are there in Sacramento, CA (not
counting RHF, or Clear Channel sales dweebs)?

Same true for KOA, 850. Used to sound very, very clean at night, now
it's the Flubbermobile.
