I rather doubt I'll be trying it, Brian. Tentative plans here are to try and put
up an inverted vee this coming summer for 60 meters, and then use that for other
bands as well with an antenna tuner. Not even sure anymore if it would even be
worthwhile to try it, but I might have a go with it.

I'm not Steve but will offer my comment anyway. It looks very much
like the Alpha-Delta sloper in length and with the inductive coils.
The prime difference seems to be that it accepts coax or ladder line.

If that's the Zap Trapper that came with the antenna, be advised it
has a finite halflife. It loses effectiveness over time.

Could be, but it's never been used. It's currently a $24 item at Universal.

If I understand correctly, these use a gas filled tube, and remain effective until
they directly short to ground, much the same as the Alpha Delta Transitrap.

I've had the Alpha Delta versions in line here for many years and they've not yet
failed.

They are a sealed gas tube. However, impurities, leakage...that sort
of thing, compromise effectiveness over time. And even a few static
strikes will produce some electrolytic action between the electrodes and
the gas introducing further impurities. I read an article a some years

Then that settles that. Thanks.
