I hope you got the manual with the radio. If not someone should be able
to pdf one for you and then you can print it out. I have the R8B manual
but not the R8A or R8.

Oh yeah. It came in the original box, original packaging, with all
documentation intact.

I knew you were going to say that!!!!!

Brian, if you have time would you send it to and I'll put it in my files.
Don't reply to the firewall, it's OK.

TIA,

Burr

You can't download it from Drake. I looked around a bit and did not see
a link to a R8A manual.

Well, you didn't look [to] [too] [two] (pick one) hard, did you? The
bama site has both the R8A and R8B manuals free for the downloading.

Hey sparky, I've been meaning to ask you how things are working for you
in the shack these days. With your displayed technical abilities you
must still be getting that mike bite every time your lips get close.

LOL!

I've got it currently connected to a walnut duct ported cabinet with a
pair of Stromberg-Carlson 12" woofers and an Altec-Lansing sectoral horn.

The Drake will drive all that with a 2.5 Watt output?

Oh, yeah. It's a very efficient speaker. And it's in a 10 X 10 room.

It doesn't need a lot of AF power.

I'm pretty happy with these Sony bookshelf speakers SS-MB100H.

Or the Sony headphones MDR-V600

The headphones I've used. And, like most Sony, don't care for them.
The speakers, I'm not familiar. I'm guessing they're efficient enough to
make a good noise with little wattage?

Big speakers are very efficient, generally. That setup should yield
close to 100dB SPL at 1 meter at 2.5 W in.
