(OT) Leukemia Research
As some of you may know, this is the weekend when Rush Limbaugh does his
fundraiser for Leukemia research. I personally donated $200 in memory of my friend Steve Goodman (thanks for the music, Steve). I urge anyone who is interested in this type of thing to give freely. 877-379-8888 I only wish I could give the $400,000 that Rush donated. dxAce Michigan USA |

People with any class at all will not make a spectacle of their own generosity. Benevolence is not something we put on as an overcoat. mike |

He often doesn't get his due. You might be interested in my 800-page biography, "Steve Goodman: Facing the Music." The book delves deeply into how his leukemia and awareness of mortality crucially impacted his stellar music. You can find out more at my Internet site (below). Man, they're coming out of the wood work... *MY* 1200 page book, The Ace, Goodman and Me: Farcing the Music, is due out next month. The book is an in depth study concerning Steve Goodman's drunken associates in Holland MI. and their on going battle with alcohol and substance abuse. It's a heartbreaking story of hopelessness, ineptitude and stupidity..sure to delight all ages. mike |

I hate retards who try to get mileage from the passing of anyone with talent. It's like they want a chunk of the greatness of the deceased by being associated with them in even the slightest way. If it isn't a piece of fame, then they are after money. The world is full of the "Hey, it's too bad about XXXXXX, he was sure under appreciated, but have you seen my book/tape/cd/pictures?" If these pricks actually liked the dearly departed, they'd be giving the books away at cost AND making anonymous donations instead of advertising it all over globe. I'm sure Hell has a special place for these leeches and hangers on. Sadly, there's never any shortage of the wanna-bees riding the coattails of the talented, whether alive or dead. It's a lot harder to shake the barnacles after you're dead, though. With your permission, this will be the last posting I make on this topic. Good, because my original intent was certainly not to draw attention to myself, only to tell others about the effort. I then offered a challenge to others to try to make a difference. I failed, and for that I feel bad. I'm truly sorry If I offended you or others. |
