Default 15230 kHz CVC International query

John,

Are you hearing CVC being relayed out of Lusaka, Zambia on 13590? They
broadcast English to Nigeria (w/ CVC's pop music & Aussie accents)
until 2100 UTC. It's being heard pretty well here in southeast North
America. They also broadcast out of Chile in Spanish and Portuguese
for long parts of the day on several frequencies (17680 is probably
the best).

Just wondering,

Mike

This morning at 1048z I was listeneing to this staion with a nice
swinging music and talk show in English, with Australian accents.

It is not listed in Passport or WRTH 2008 so I looked it up on EIBI
and found it is a 250 Kw transmitter out of Darwin.

I did a Google on CVC but could find no further info on them.
Anyone know who they are and what they are about?

Thanks to Ace for the URL - they don't list 13590 as beamed to
Southern Africa, but show several other frequencies. Lusake would be
an easy catch from here.

Check out the listing for 13590 on EiBi. The beam is to Nigeria,
explaining why you might not be getting it to the South. Hauser has
said in DXLD that it's from Lusaka. It's making it pretty well to
North America.
