Not reading ****ty publications that tell us how great things are. Thats why the people are up to their eyeballs in debt just to afford the basics. We're not talking about living with the Joneses, were talking about the average American family making 30 K to 70 K going down quite hard as the cost of living increases faster than wages. Unemployment and underemployment is around 15 percent by any real substantial economic analysis. Government says unemployment is 5.5 percent yet the way they figure the stats is flawed. For instance, they don't count people who have left the workforce due to not being able to find a job. They don't count the people that started into a small business or some other occupation. They include the prisoners in the prison system as being employed even though they are not in the civilian workforce. This also includes the military folks even though they do not hold civilian jobs. Government and the housing industry was responsible for the creation of what jobs were created since 2001 and 2002. Now that bubble is bursting and the housing is going down hard which decreases the need for construction workers, home improvement, and many other jobs. Government payrolls increased by tens of thousands with little increases in productivity. Small towns all over America are being decimated as jobs leave in the manufacturing industries yet Wal Mart, China Mart, and every other business relies on imported goods from the Far East. You dont create wealth by creating nothing of value. Even a lot of computer software is not created here but by Indian programmers. So there went high tech and high quality jobs. |

Fair enough... ...but then with all that financial knowledge you have, please tell us how you still managed to get burned by Huntington. Well, when the guy says he's putting one into 'Class C' shares of a particular mutual fund and turns around and puts the money into 'Class A' shares and you don't find out about it for several weeks due to waiting for a pin number and an access code to view the account, that's how one gets burned. One can have all the knowledge in the world, but if someone sets out to screw you over, well, &%$# happens! The account was sold, a complaint was filed, no joy. A mediation was requested, no joy. Required paperwork has been filed (might as well be a lawyer to do that!) and merely waiting for a date to be set for the arbitration. What fun! According to a few other financial outfits who indicated that they'd have merely switched the class of shares around, no harm no foul, the clowns at Huntington want to argue about it. Huntington even kicked me out of the bank! Told me I even had to remove all accounts, including CD's. I then informed them that the CD's were contractual agreements.. took them a bit to acknowledge that. (cause they're stupid). At any rate, the guy burned me for $800-1000. But, they'd rather cut off their noses to spite their faces because after all funds get removed they'll wind up losing $2000 to $3000 a year (forever and ever). But as you may know, the corporate types at times are loathe to admit mistakes and or wrong doing. |
