I met him in 1972 or 1973 in Ojai, California. Nice guy. He and his wife had
been playing tennis, she was in the restroom, and he just walked on over to me,
sitting at a picnic table, and started chatting.

I was rather shocked! His wife left the restroom and headed to the car, a
Volkswagen Beetle if I recall, so I didn't get to meet her. We talked for a few
more minutes, and he said "I gotta go!".

Memorable.

A really great actor - one of my favourites.
A good family man as well, and a perfect example to all.
RIP Paul

The homepage of Paul Newman's alma mater Kenyon College in Gambier,
Ohio, contains a moving tribute. Please see http://www.kenyon.edu.
Newman not only contributed much of the profit from his food company
to Kenyon, but also returned to campus periodically to direct student
plays, teach, and lead fundraising efforts. God bless him and his
family.
