M DJ in Afro-accented French w/ lots of Afropop melodies and Afro-beat
pop mx. ID at top of hour. Fair, some ham interference. - (E1 w/ 50'
external - Bryant, KY, US - Oct 11)


3320 - 2245 - Radio Sonder Grense, Meyerton, South Africa -
(Afrikaans) - sio:444 - Two W talking in animated Afrikaans, which
sounds very much like Dutch. Very good, first time I've heard this
station in the local afternoon. - (E1 w/ 50' external - Bryant, KY, US
- Oct 11)


4845 - 2240 - R. Mauretanie , Nouakchott, Mauritania - (AA) - sio:454
- Very simple (I hesitate to use the ethnocentric word 'primitive')
tribal chanting with log drum accompaniment. Very strong. - (E1 w/ 50'
external - Bryant, KY, US - Oct 11)


4965 - 2238 - CVC Int'l, Lusaka, Zambia - (EE) - sio:343 - US R&B mx,
W in afro-accented English w/ ID and talk about the condition of
children in Iraq. Good, first time I've heard them on this frequency.

15190 - 2228 - R. Africa, Bata, Equatorial Guinea - (EE) - sio:333 - M
& W preaching, W reading letter from Tony Alamo abt the Church in
Arkansas. Signal better than the modulation, overpowering co-Channel
WYFR in Portuguese. - (E1 w/ 50' external - Bryant, KY, US - Oct 11)

Nice work Mike - RSG on 3 megs is no easy catch from your QTH = well
done.

I quite enjoy the music on R. Mauretanie. Another interesting Maghreb
broadcaster is Radio Nacional de la Republica Arabe Saharahui
Democratica on 6300 kHz.
