Well, integrated MP3 player, not Ipod - thankfully. Ipods blow. There
are much better/easier to use/easier to manage Mp3 players available at a
fraction of the cost of an Ipod.

Hard to say how well it would work as it relies on DSP.

Electronics to support this part a
1. A micro controller to operate it.
2. Audio amplifier stage.
3. Display system.
4. A dual voltage power supply.

32 kb/s WAV files are not "lousy". That is plenty for recording 5 kHz
mono audio.
