I wouldn't call it a "landslide". A solid majority yes, but not a
landslide. A true landslide was Reagan's 1984 win. 49 states. The only
state to go Democratic was Mondale's home state of Minnesota, which he

Your calling 6% more votes a landslide?
Perhaps you need to refer to the definition of the term "landslide".
27 states do not a "landslide" make.
Obama got a million more votes than Bush did in 04.
And you all said then that Bush had nowhere near enough popular vote
to have a mandate.
So you're saying that the left lied then?

BTW, THESE were "Landslides":

(results in electoral votes)

-Franklin Roosevelt in all four of his elections, with electoral votes
of 472, 523, 449 and 432.

The current electoral count stands at Obama 349, McCain 147. I have no data
on how many members of the House of Representatives have been added since
the T. Roosevelt administration.

That particular electoral total is a bit misleading on the surface.
Roosevelt got a lot wider margin in the popular vote percentage wise
and he got all but 12 states.

No, you are playing a game of semantics. Just because Reagan/Mondale was
a bigger landslide doesn't mean this election -wasn't- also a landslide.
Most people would define getting more than double the votes of the
runner-up as a landslide, albeit not as dramatic as your Ronnie example,
but a landslide none the less.

In any event, you miss the -main- point of the original post. It wasn't
to play semantics, it -was- to point out the irony of how W united the
country -- just not in the way that he planned.

And why not, pray tell?

Electoral votes are -exactly- what is used to determine the winner. And
if the winner gets -more than double- the votes of the runner-up, most
*intelligent* people would consider that a landslide. However, it's
certainly your prerogative to call it whatever you wish.

In any event, you miss the -main- point of the original post. It wasn't

But then, I shouldn't be surprised. Your specialty is spinning, dodging

I don't want to get into a ****ing match with you and I am sure you'll

in the history of my life "Lord God {Allah}." It seems you have
somewhat fallen into the trap so too speak, no where in my Bible or
from any pulpit have I ever heard Lord God called "Allah". From what I
know Allah wasn't crucified and rose from the dead three days
later.....just thought I'd mention that. I know a group of people
though that love to read that. Allah? Lord please help us.

BCB LazySusan,

The Islam-O-Fascists 'claim' to be Attacking
the USA and Americans : In-the-Name-of-Allah.

God {Allah} is am In-Your-Face Statement
"God Bless America and All Americans"
-translation-
'Allah Bless America and All Americans'
Meaning : God {Allah} Is Good
-while- The Islam-O-Fascist Are Bad

The Word "Lord" [God] is a Self-Recognition
that We 'choose' {surrender/submission}
to Put "God" Above Us.

The Word "Dear" [God -or- Lord God] is the
Self-Admission that We 'hold' {internalize}

I'm not saying Obama is" The Messiah", "special" or anything else. That
seems to be some sort of delusion that some folks have, like some folks
have some delusion he's the devil or whatever. I'm talking about the
birth certificate nonsense, and the "chicken little, the sky is
falling" reaction to his getting elected. It's going to be awfully hard
for him to outdo Bush in the bad president contest.

**sigh** Anyone who makes sure their posts are taken away from the
archives has no credibility. Just my opinion Bob.

I just have to say this RHF, you keep stating "Dear Lord God {Allah}."
I don't want to get into a ****ing match with you and I am sure you'll
provide many a links but I have never (until you) ever heard or read
in the history of my life "Lord God {Allah}." It seems you have
somewhat fallen into the trap so too speak, no where in my Bible or
from any pulpit have I ever heard Lord God called "Allah". From what I
know Allah wasn't crucified and rose from the dead three days
later.....just thought I'd mention that. I know a group of people
though that love to read that. Allah? Lord please help us.

This group cracks me up. Shortwave Radio? Huh? All I see is this
"religious secret language" in here ie; {Allah} Bibel etc. etc. etc.
what a joke of a group IMO. I thought I would visit here to read some
great
posts and opinions about the Grundig 750. Nada - nothing. Enough said.
Have fun all you "cool kids" shaking my head and rolling my eyes
Usenet- gotta love it.
