Default Festival of nine lessons and carols

forward = disappointing! were at church then

Dear John Plimmer,

I am replying to your email sent to our Letters last month regarding
The Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols. As Christmas Eve this year
is a weekday and the East and Southern African stream has its own
programming (Focus on Africa) at 1500 GMT, it's not possible for us to
broadcast the service live to Africa.

However you should be able to hear the repeat which is broadcast on
Christmas Day (Thursday) 0730-0900 GMT on 21470 kHz (or indeed 9860,
or 6190 kHz).

I attach the details of this year's service from the domestic BBC
website.

If you are able to listen online then you should be able to hear it
streamed live either on our website or the domestic "Radio 4" site
(links below). In each case click on the Listen Live button.

I do hope you manage to hear it in one of these ways.
Best wishes,
