Mine says nothing more than SP-600J on it. The previous owner did a mod

except it generates birdies every now and again. It's a good rig and
fairly stable except over 30 MHz where the oscillator seems to bounce
quite a bit.

Oh my. The frequency readout also. You make me jealous, I wish you
were my neighbor. ;-) Myself, I wouldn't care about the bounce over
thirty because I wouldn't be up that high, how high does it go BTW? I
forget. One more thing, do you use your receiver everyday or do you
have others you use more? Just curious.

The radio receives up to 54 MHz. Yeah, the freq. instability isn't
really an issue as I rarely tune past 22MHz.

My Drake R8B sees every day use but the SP-600 sees more use during the
winter than the summer. The SP cranks out a lot of heat! When I'm
traveling, I like to use the Sony 7600GR. It's a great little portable.

Your SP-600 gives off heat? Telemundoh will be shocked, and probably
call you a liar.

Speak for yourself lying Kookaburra.

So an SP-600 DOES give off heat?

So what am I lying about now, Telemundoh?
