I finally received a QSL from GB95MGY. It was a ham station at Goldaming College (UK) operated by members of the Wey Valley Amateur Radio Group. The special event station honored the memory of Jack Phillips, the Chief Wireless Operator on the Titanic and commemorated the 95th anniversary (April 15, 2007) of the Titanic's loss. Their ham call incorporated the Titanic's radio call sign, MGY. Nice card, full color, picture of the Titanic and inset of Jack Phillips. Good deal. Good for you. I haven't wrote for a qsl in a while, I may start doing that again, always a good feeling to go to the mailbox and have something other than bills and junk mail. ;-) |
