Sunspot 1017 05/14/2009 by Kevin VE3EN at 13:45 Comment on Message Board The Cycle 24 plage region has finally produced a small sunspot. It has received the number 1017 by NOAA. This area of magnetism remains very quiet. A CME took place on Wednesday off the eastern limb. The picture is below. The Lasco C2 movie link can be found on the left hand side of the page. The solar flux reached a high of 74 on Tuesday (75.5 adjusted). As small as that seems, that is the highest it has been in just over 1 year.
