Default Ralph Stair on his deathbed???

Noticed that Stair hasn't been live on the radio for a bit now, his
other followers have been doing the broadcast by their sermons. I knew
Stair said he was sick a little while ago. Considering this is their
main festival of the year this week, is Stair on his deathbed????

Hope so.

He's praying and fasting maybe? In all seriousness. {?}

Possible but rare for him to be off the air for this long.

My guess is that a new "sweet young thang" found her way onto the farm
and that's keeping him occupied.

I don't think he has been off the air. Perhaps he's on less
frequently, or has changed the times he goes live.

In addition to the prophet's 24/7/365 broadcast and net feed, he's
also on loads of AM stations (probably FM too) for a few hours per
day. Here in NYC he has 3 hours or so every night at 02:00 or so on
620kHz. These seem to be quite current -- he discusses the news, reads
letters, and has been pushing his 3-day group fast (scheduled for this
weekend, believe). I occasionally listen to these hours (there's
something compelling about the guy -- and when he plays tape of the
abusive phone calls he gets, it's great!) My impression is he's still
broadcasting.

I think what he does is a few hours of new program every day or so and
those hours are "privileged". That is, those are the ones he
broadcasts over stations where he only has a few hours. So while the
shortwave feed may be 90% repeats, the short mediumwave shows are much
more "new."

See if he's on a local AM where you are, especially for only an hour
or two. If so, listen to that programming, as it'll give a better
sense of what he's been up to lately. My 2 cents, anyways.

He's back, said he wasn't feeling well, still has a really nasty sore
throat. You can tell it in his voice, all broken up. Hate him or love
him, you have to admit, he does keep American shortwave alive.

I neither love him nor hate him. I just find him and his communication
style fascinating. He is, without a doubt, a compelling personality.

I imagine it won't be more than a decade or so after his demise that
someone writes a good, scholarly biography of the guy. He's a perfect
subject, given his influence on different levels of the culture
(religion, media, etc.)

On a related, old-SW-preacher note: Harold Camping has been calling
the exact day of the end of the world for a couple years now. It's in
late May, 2011, if I remember rightly. Last I heard, he was adamant
about that date.

Should the old guy live that long, his broadcasts up to that day --
and after, if, God forbid, he got it wrong -- should make fascinating
listening.

Brother Camping is even older than the Prophet; but those guys
sometimes go on forever.

Camping did the same thing in 1994, called for the end of the world. I
doubt if anyone believes him this time. Even his own station WYFR
conflicts with his teachings now.
