If I can't read the beginning of your posts without scrolling down I
don't read them. Why you insist on reposting entire threads every time
you add your 2 cents worth is beyond me.

Well, if you followed them, you would notice some posts go for days,
close to a week without a response, so it only makes sense to post the
whole thing, just so people know what you're replying to.

It ****es me off when people cut so much out of a post to the point of
making the post totally nonsensical unless you just happen to remember
it, or the thread has it in another post.

If you use a real newsreader it will find old posts in the thread.

I do use a real newsreader, but I don't keep the threads going back far
enough for what the poster is talking about after a certain point. If I
want to see them, I can, but I don't really want the hassle. Posting the
whole deal is easier. And unless someone is on dialup, what's the point
of cutting a hundred lines or so of post?

What's the use? Good netiquette, and less recursion, less waste of screen
real estate, and less repetitive motion (kbd, mouse). Proper snipping
and inclusion of quotations with interleaved new text makes for better
comprehension. I'm with the O.P. on this; sometimes I will skip a message
if it includes all of the previous messages in the thread as a quotation.
A general rule of thumb is that a message should include all of the
necessary references by quotation to be intelligible and no more.
