Why not make that 'reliable' station WWV to start with? WWV at 10.000000 MHz has been my station since 1957 and even though the NBS has changed it's name to NIST, WWV remains untouched. Propagation delay is on the order of 1000/183,000 miles per second so that leaves about 5 milliseconds of error here in the sates. I find that my TV cable box display provides the easiest access to accurate time. Art Harris, N2AH Hah, I have had WWV on at the same time as my cable box and found up to 30 seconds difference. Where does the extra time come from? Bill Baka |

I don't have a box since I don't watch much television but their channel listings channel is usually off by about 30 seconds. Another channel that shows local weather is about 15 seconds better but neither is dead on. I get WWV at 2.5, 5.0, 10.0, 15, 20, and 25 MHz so I get the full spread at different times of day. 2.5 and 25 are the hardest to get here. Bill Baka |

After a big toke? 25 MHz was discontinued in 1977 :-) dxAce Michigan USA |

Last night I was using the RME to amplify signals at 27 MHz and listening to all the CB'ers, amplified mikes and 1,000 watt plus kickers and all. One guy had to be close because every time he keyed he almost broke my S-meter and the rest were from much farther away. Skip must be in. Bill Baka |

They don't slam. |

Fast attack and a guy blasting my rig most definitely *slams* my S meter harder than I want. I don't expect a bent end like I found on a Simpson voltmeter that another guy kept forgetting to change ranges on. Bill Baka |

The time is dispalyed continuously directly on the front of my cable box, not on the TV. And it's always dead on. Art Harris |
