I just won this Grundig radio from Deutsche Welle in Germany. It did
not come with an adapter and I would like to purchase one. Problem is the Yacht Boy 80 is not sold in America. The radio calls for a 6V 200mA (+)tip adapter. Before I buy anything I want to make sure it's the right one. I fried a perfectly good DX-440 once by using the wrong adapter and I do not wish this to happen again. Question is, can I just go buy a 6V 200mA (+)tip adapter from Radio Shack or does this need to be researched more? Technically the Grundig Yacht Boy 80 is sold in the US as the Sangean PT-80 ProTravel, but it uses a 6V 200mA (-)tip adapter. With all the research I've done I haven't been able to come up with a source for purchasing the adapter that's made specifically for the Yacht Boy 80. Suggestions anyone? Richard, Las Vegas Before the world wide web there was World Band Radio. |
