You're thinking about "funny" channels. A "slider" was a fairly narrow (typically between 10 and 25 KHz) bandspread that allowed the CB to be tuned between channels (as between channel 3 and channel 4, channel 7 and channel 8, etc.) and/or to "follow" a QSO in SSB mode, where the signal on the other end was not spot on channel. |
