I think it is wise to objectively remember and learn from the mistakes that each generation, each person makes. Every person makes good and bad decisions and choices in his/her life. Murtha was one of these, one among billions. To say he was an honorable Marine and an occasionally dishonest politician in the same breath is truthful and objective, and thus does not dishonor his memory. Both things are worth remembering about the man, both provide important character studies and lessons for those that follow, and neither should be hidden nor forgotten. Bruce Jensen |
