Just pointing out the fallacy of your "he was a Marine" bs. You flag wavers can't have it both ways And I'm pointing out the fallacy of your logic, as well. You clowns can't have it both ways, either. I'm trying to see your point of view Mr. Maus but I can't shove my head that far up my ass. Oh, now...you're being modest. We both know better. You're whistling Dixie in the dark even now. I think it is wise to objectively remember and learn from the mistakes that each generation, each person makes. Every person makes good and bad decisions and choices in his/her life. Murtha was one of these, one among billions. To say he was an honorable Marine and an occasionally dishonest politician in the same breath is truthful and objective, and thus does not dishonor his memory. Both things are worth remembering about the man, both provide important character studies and lessons for those that follow, and neither should be hidden nor forgotten. Bruce Jensen Make no mistake. I didn't like the guy. I didn't care for his politics. And there was quite a shadow over his public service career relating to his ethics. That said, he served as a Marine. No mean accomplishment, there. And he was elected to the Congress. And though I occasionally question his integrity, he was certainly no Rod Blagojevich. But the man is now dead. He can do no harm. He can hurt no one. He can have little influence. To bash the man, now, is pointless. And as you correctly point out, Bruce, there are lessons to be learned and truths to be remembered. |

Heyyyyyy,,,, The Cockeyed Cowboys of Calico County movie has just now
started on the Western channel. Dan Blocker, Nanette Fabray, Jim Backus.Townsfolk soothe their blacksmith by having a saloon girl pose as his no-show mail-order bride. It is a GOOD Western movie! There is a feral Calico cat I see running around my neighborhood every once in a while. cuhulin |
