Default Newbie, looking for France and Germany

Sorry to crash in on you guys. I came with one thing in mind and have
found another.

Is there anything in particular that I should look for in a s-w radio,
in order to tune in France and Germany?

I used to be able to get Germany at night with a s-w radio that I used
to have, and I would like to try again.

I'm doing this to try to strengthen language skills. Does anyone know if
any news broadcasts are aimed at America in French or German that may
use a simplified vocabulary?

Thank you.

Baile Atha Cliath

If I want Guinness, I can go to Fenian's Pub or that other Irish Pub
(Bonney,, whatever it T'IS?, it is a new Irish Pub in Flowood) or some
of the other booze joints or stores around here.Thingy is though, I quit
the booze in February 2009, over a year ago.

Of the 6,000 odd languages in the world, one is said to disappear every
fortnight.Should the english speaking world care?

A fornight is fourteen nights, or two weeks, according to
