Luvvvvvv to get out there and looksee at that old stuff, Indeed! I would also just Luvvvvvv to see those old Wagon wheels imprints/ruts in Oregon and wherever else from many, many years ago.I remember when I lived in Bozeman,Montana in 1956, my dad and I stopped an a restaurant place out in the sticks somewhere, there was an old Stagecoach strongbox sitting out front on the ground for the tourist to check out. Yeahhh, Dayton,Ohio. Some of my old power tools have Dayton electric motors on them.People in Indiana used to call it (Ohio) O H 10. (Oh Ache Ten) cuhulin |

Anderson,South Carolina was the first City in the South to have
continous electricity. http://www.hmdb.org/marker.asp?marker=10693 Howsoever, before that and before any Cities up North had continous electricity, electricity was only available for two or three hours in the evenings. The old electricity power plant in Buffalo,New York was restored years ago for the tourist people to look at. I don't know when Mississippi first had electricity. The big old house where I was born in Carthage was built by my grandfather and his brother back in the early 1900s.That house was the first house in Carthage to have electricity, we had indoor plumbing too.I remember the old style twisted insulated wires and the white porcelain insulators.Back in the 1970's, I disconnected the double row push button light switch that was in the hallway by the front door.(nobody was living there anymore) I brought that old light switch home with me, I still have that old light switch right here. cuhulin |

OK guys, it's that time of the year again. anyone heading to Dayton this year? I won't be going. been about 2 years for me. just don't like the crowds there, too many people in one spot. been sticking to the local fests. went to the 2-Rivers and the next Breezeshooters fest in June. (largest in W.PA.). it's the season. Drifter... I enjoyed going to the Breezeshooters hamfest at the Butler Fairgrounds regularly until I moved to the West Coast 10 years ago. I really do miss it. It made for a nice laid back day in the country. Also, I seem to remember that the organizers really had a nack for picking the same day that a big thunderstorm would roll through. -N.Morrow |

Also, remember going to the Brasspounders fest. White Swan Park. and, old McDonalds Crossroads. Gee, I must be getting old, I remember when Two Rivers was held at/ behind the Green Valley fire-hall/ station. Wow, that takes me back. another great one was the Goodyear fest at Wing-Foot Part in Oh-hi. best part about the Goodyear fest was, first prize was a ride in the blimp! and, last but not least, Tri-counties. fest, PIE fest, and that big one down West Va. at Wheeling park. gee, i am getting old. But, the Butler fest has always been a don't miss for me. got my tickets first of May. always support your local club; closest to me is the Foothills and Summerset clubs. Drifter... |
