This sounds bogus. Government statistics say the same. Also, the IRS issues noncitizen TIN's that work the same as SSN's, except there are no benefits.. they're just for tax purposes. Also, think about this: even the ones using faked SSN's are paying into Social Security. Those payments will not go to the person illegally using that SSN, but to the person who actually owns the SSN. If nobody owns the SSN, then the payments just go into the general fund to be distributed later. |
