Default Cell phone amps/boosters?

Anyone with experience regarding cell phone signal boosters? They
range from the joke printed circuit stickers which are pasted to the
back of the set to expensive 3 watt units.

Any brands to avoid? Anyone other than the Holland Michigan guy ever
get brain cancer from one of these things?

It has to be a non direct connect unit, as the phone has no removable
antenna. Are there still 'bag phones' available? They were pretty
powerful if memory serves.

Any insights, or circuitry for a home brew unit would be appreciated.

Huh? Hey, clown 'tard Canuck, I've never had a cell phone, nor do I envision
myself ever getting one as I have no need for one.

But hey, feel free (if there is any such thing as freedom in CanaDuh) to amp
up the power and fry what is left of your brain.

You've been getting pretty cranky lately. Your pain problem acting up again?

As always, don't mix your pain meds with your booze...and AVOID
oxycontin like the plague -- it's deadly.

A woman driver with a cell phone is a deadly combination. Almost every
time I see a woman driving a car she's yakking away on the phone. I've
seen women run straight through red lights, oblivious to their
surroundings while using their cell phone. Recently I passed a black
woman in another lane who was yakking away on her "sail fone", phone
in one hand and the other hand was gesturing wildly .... she had NO
hands on the wheel and her car was drifting left and right. She was
yelling and screaming ... really chimping out. Scary stuff.

Just a FYI, GSM is limited by timing, not signal strength. I don't
know about CDMA.

Bag phones are analog. Lotsa luck finding service.

Cell phones are great if the coverage is decent enough. But, it
depends on the individual provider. And yes, people do get killed while
driving and talking and especially 'texting', all the time.Very
sad,but true...

Luck for him the Stop Sign was for the Cross Traffic
