... Adcock antennas (phase front detectors) come to mind for HF as does the Wullenweber, I was merely wondering what means was employed to obtain a bearing. But if it was so 'secret' as you imply, then I'm left to suspect it was subterfuge or snitching. In any case the issue seems to be 'temporarily' resolved. Maybe it was an inefficient brute force grid search where some dedicated people gas up and drive around with simple field strength or "S" meters hoping the vagaries of propagation don't too severely compromise their efforts. Well, yeah, direction finding is, obviously, involved. Just guessing, I'd think teenagers are involved and using their parents stations. Why, because I would use my 1KW mobile, hit the freeways, cruise nearby towns, drive in the country, etc., while "jamming." So, obviously, the resources available to "these would be jammers" is rather limited. It helps to install an industrial alternator on your transportation ... let 'em find that ... after you are done, go silent, go home ... But then, you already knew that ... Regards, JS |

You sound like you're talking about a Texas Star Sweet Sixteen which sucks very heavily on any electrical system.
