MSN is dropping WebTV, and "offering an upgrade" to WebTV customers. I
always love when MS arbitrarily drops support for longstanding applications
(like they did to Outlook/Outlook Express, when they decided to pretty much
force LiveMail on us.) So Larry really won't have a choice whether or not
to ditch his WebTV.

MSN has been ' loving ' it's loyal customers this way for years !

They've been soft-pedaling WebTV for about 12 years now. I had an
original Dishplayer 7100 powered by WebTV. It was a combination WebTV
internet device and DishNetwork satellite receiver and a digital video
recorder. The whole mess was built by JVC and Echostar. One really cool
feature was you could put TV screen captures into emails really easily.

It was the first DVR to have mass distribution. That's why I got it. It
broke down frequently and every time they sent me a replacement I got a
new wireless keyboard. I have 3 or 4 of them somewhere.

It is VERY risky to buy a product that has no proven reliability .
Unless one has money to burn . I usually wait for awhile, just to see
if it is any good at all .

I think you'd be much happier in a nice HTC EVO. AT&T is a terrible
phone company.

If nothing else, they call too often to try to sell you something.

I get a U-Verse ad almost every day. I have measured service for my DSL
to piggyback on cause they don't do dry drops. That is all the business
I plan to do with those people.

might get out.

Just before I got on the internet that morning, my phone was ringing, it

Maybe you should have a secret ring, like ring once, hang up, call back
in exactly 30 seconds, something like that.
