-but- the other Parts of the Bulbs themselves fail.

Have a few that have been running for 5+ Years
and others that Fail after 1~2 Years.

Talking $10+ LEDS and ~$45 LEDS that Do NOT
Last 100K Hours.

For most consumers the newer Commercial Cold
Cathode CFL Light Bulds may be the better 'choice' :

Using incandescent bulbs insures the release of mercury as a byproduct
of burning coal. Coal plants also release more radiation than nuclear
plants. I have been using CFLs for 20+ years. I have broken maybe 3, all
in my drop light. I am now using an indestructable LED lamp in my drop
light.

I don't leave it on constantly. A couple hours in the morning. A few in
the evening. I have lots of CFLs I've never changed.

Traffic lamps are turned on and off hundreds of times a day. That is not
really comparable to the illumination duty cycle in most peoples' homes..
